I starting making cakes as a request from a cousin of mine. She was hosting a baby shower and needed me to make a Diaper Cake for her. I had never even heard of a Diaper Cake, but decided it was worth a try.
And try it was. I think we worked for about 3 hours to come up with something. There was ribbon and tissue paper and blue pampers for a girl cake. That was the best part. She said she forgot how to buy pampers and got the first thing she saw. After lots of trial and error. We came very close to a nice looking cake. Maybe I'll post the picture one day. Don't want to give a bad impression so early on. I've improved leaps and bounds since then.
Anyway, I took that expericence and shoved it down deep into the resourses of mind to never be heard from again or so I thought.
About 2 years later which turned out to be earlier this year. I had to go back into the part of my mind and dust off the cob webs. I was asked to make yet another cake. This one faired way better than the first attempt.
Four months later I was alligator deep in Diaper Cakes. Its the best thing I ever did for myself. I love babies and have no desire to have any more. So this is the next best thing for me.
I get to create and have everyone enjoy the fruits of my labor, without having to go into labor.
